Description

Duration and mode of study

The MSc course can be undertaken full-time in one year or part-time over two to four years, providing a flexibility which can be fitted around clinical and personal commitments.

Alternative you can choose to study for a Postgraduate Diploma (two to four years, but without the dissertation) or a Postgraduate Certificate (one to two years).

CPD modules

Individual modules on this course are also available as Continuous Professional Development (CPD) modules. Each module consists of five days' teaching with some modules having an extra half day for examinations.

Start Dates

Entry for the Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or MSc is in April or September. Inidvidual modules are delivered throughout the year.

Course aims

The course provides a wide range of approved, accredited M-level modules and short courses targeted at the specific needs of post-registration healthcare professionals. These modules focus on clinical, diagnostic and technical skills development whilst also providing an academic underpinning and will provide an educational foundation for advanced/autonomous practice.

  • Clinical Presentation and Management in Diabetes: Complications and Cardiovascular Disease
  • Clinical Presentation and Management in Diabetes: Glycaemic Control, New and Novel Therapies
  • Research module (MSc/Diploma only) - choose from: Fundamentals of Applied Health Research; Quantitative Methods in Applied Health Research; Qualitative Methods in Applied Health Research

Teaching and assessment methods

Most modules and short courses are delivered by consecutive day blocks, with some having a short break in-between. All accredited modules are assessed by a variety of methods, including written examinations, written assignments and oral presentations.
