Master Genetics and Cell Biology (specialisation Genetics, Cell Biology and Pathology)    Back

Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 Course Type: Master taught Start Date: September
Location: Lyon, France Duration: Full time - 2 Years Fees/total cost: EUR 510.00

The specialty GBCP of the Master GBC trains students in basic research in the fields of genetics, cell biology, and biomedical applications. This Research Master completes the training of research professionals and should enable students to pursue a thesis or work specifically in a research facility or R & D. The core theme of this specialty is the study of cell biology, its development, of diseases, both in the medical sector and in the scientific sector. Laboratories associated with work at the cellular level with, the vast majority, an approach using genetic tools or cell biology. On the sub-cellular frontier, macromolecular dimensions, in particular protein are often discussed. From the supra-cellular side, integration at the level of development and extracellular matrices are also worked.

Teachers are either academics or researchers, which highlights a strong anchor to the real world of research. During the internship, students are confronted with the realities of life in the laboratory and are integrated into the research team welcoming them. In all, this laboratory apprenticeship will last about 35 weeks, which will be a real experience of being a researcher.
